A foursome from Liverpool, England, Cook da Books cut a fiercely independent if
brief career during the 80’s New Wave scene. Consisting of Peter “Digsy” Deary,
John Legget, Tony Prescott, Owen Moran, and Kevin Kunky Kelly, the band produced
synth-heavy and often politically charged singles, including their debut
release, “Piggie in the Middle 8”, which went to number 18 on the UK Indie
chart. This record got three of their songs used in the 1982 French comedy La
Boum 2, and one of those, “Your Eyes”, became a number 1 hit in France. Their
