As a singer, the French artist Caroline Loeb is best known for her mid-1980s pop
song "C'est la ouate," which reached the Top 5 in France, Italy, Spain, Germany,
and Argentina between 1986 and 1987. She was born three decades earlier on
October 5, 1955, in Neuilly-sur-Seine, France. Although largely on the outskirts
of Paris, she also spent part of her childhood in New York City. Her younger
brother, Martin Loeb, became an actor during the 1970s, and Caroline joined him
