Galician gaïta player Carlos Nuñez is one of the most famous of all ringers. A
soloist trained at the Royal Conservatory in Madrid, he made his first
triumphant appearances at the Festival Interceltique de Lorient at the age of
thirteen. His albums, Brotherhood of the Stars (1997), Os amores libres (2000)
and Un Galicien en Bretagne (2003), are highly acclaimed by Celtic music fans,
as are the many musicians who regularly accompany him, including The Chieftains,
Alan Stivell, Dan Ar Braz, Lúz Casal and Jordi Savall.
