Canada is a French FM rock band founded in 1982 in Marseille, from the ashes of
a high school band, Alenda, by Gildas Arzel (vocals, guitar, bass, banjo,
violin, harmonica), his brother Gwenn Arzel (drums), Erick Benzi (keyboards,
piano, sax) and Jack Veneruso (bass and guitar). In 1984, the band was signed by
EMI. It would be another three years before they scored a major hit with "Mourir
les sirènes", a slow rock that spent fourteen weeks in the Top 50 and reached
