Arnaud Rebotini (producer, vocals) and Ivan Smagghe (DJ) formed Black Strobe in
Paris in 1997. Initially electoclash-oriented, the duo released the track "Me
and Madonna" in 2002, whose theme is reminiscent of Miss Kittin's "Frank
Sinatra". The track appears on the mini-album Chemical Sweet Girl in 2004. Ivan
Smagghe left Black Strobe in 2006, and the duo became a group with the addition
of organic musicians, undergoing a profound change of style towards industrial
techno. The 2007 album Burn Your Own Church reflects this transformation. Black
