Born in New Orleans, Louisiana, on April 11, 1996, rapper John Earl Lotts aka Big Boogie grew up in Memphis, where he stayed to pursue his career. After an impoverished childhood and a difficult adolescence, he focused on music, releasing his first Definition of Pain mixtape in 2017, the first part of a trilogy completed by Pain on Paper 3 the same year and Final Chapter in 2019.
