Born Benjamin Duterde on November 10, 1984, he is best known by his stage name
Ben L’Oncle Soul (Ben the Uncle Soul). After studying Fine Arts and graduating
in 2004, he joined gospel group Fitavana. After performing on stage at the
Olympia, he signed a management contract which led to him signing with the
Motown France label. His first release was 2009’s Soul Wash EP. In 2010, he
