Anamaría Tijoux Merino, aka Ana Tijoux, is a French rapper, singer, songwriter
and musician whose roots and career are firmly embedded in the music and culture
of Chile, the home country of her parents who fled the Pinochet regime in 1973.
She later travelled to Chile in 1993 and formed the duo Los Gamelos. Two years
later, she joined forces with local rappers Seo2, Cenzi, and DJ Squat to form
the band Makiza in Santiago. This combination resulted in the bestselling album
