Argentine singer-songwriter Alejandro Federico Lerner (June 8, 1957) rose to
fame in the 1980s with his silky-smooth blend of romantic ballads and
adult-oriented rock. Born in Buenos Aires into a family of Ashkenazi Jewish
descent, he began his career as a professional musician working with Raúl
Porchetto, Gustavo Santaolalla, and León Gieco before forming the band La Magia
in 1981. After releasing just one album, the group broke up and Alejandro Lerner
issued his first solo LP Todo a Pulmón in 1983. Propelled by the popularity of
