Classical music conductor Alain Lombard was born in Paris, France on October 4,
1940. He began his musical journey at the age of seven when he began studying
the violin and piano. At the age of nine, he attended the Conservatoire de
Paris, where he was enrolled in an orchestra conducting class taught by French
violinist/conductor Gaston Poulet. Alain Lombard conducted his first orchestra –
the Orchester Pasdeloup- at the age of 11. He became principal conductor at the
