Born in Los Angeles, California, in 1973, Alejandro Ocana, known professionally
as 2Mex, is a prominent figure in the city's underground hip-hop scene. His
career began at the Good Life Cafe open mic nights in 1992, where he co-founded
the group Of Mexican Descent. He gained wider recognition in the late 1990s and
early 2000s. In 1998, 2Mex made his album debut with The Visionaries on the LP
Galleries and released the first Of Mexican Descent album, Éxitos y Más Éxitos.
